Run around!by Paul Vegas10 months agoSend to a friendShare the loveNewcastle United legend Alan Shearer slammed the performance of Liverpool’s strikers during their FA Cup defeat to Wolves.Daniel Sturridge and Divock Origi were both given rare starts with Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino all dropping to the bench.Asked if he was not impressed with the forwards, Shearer said: “Not impressed? “You’ve got one guy Sturridge out of contract at the end of this season. You’ve got Origi 18 months left on his contract.“Do something, run around, cause the centre-halves a problem. They have done nothing.“Playing as individuals, look, 30 yards apart. He wins the header here, where’s Sturridge in case he wins that header? Get over and help your team-mate.“Look at him, he’s not even moving towards the ball. Quite content, not working as a partnership, no movement, no running in behind.“Flat, no energy, they’ve not done anything to upset those Wolves centre-halves.“I can’t even say how they’ve had a sweat on, the two forwards, because they’ve done nothing.“The manager should be going absolutely berserk, particularly at those two in the first half because they’ve added nothing whatsoever.” last_img
