Friday night, president Donald Trump weighed in on his opinion of Meyer.Trump, speaking at a rally in Lebanon, Ohio, gave his opinion of Meyer – both on the field and off the field. He called him a “great coach” and a “great guy.”Trump also joked with the crowd that it seemed like he was in the middle of an Ohio State football game. The Washington Examiner captured the quote. It’s brief but sums up how the president feels about Meyer.“It sounds like we’re in the middle of an Ohio State football game. And speaking of Ohio State, they’re not doing too badly are they?” said Trump, to audience cheers. “They have a great coach, a great coach — a great guy. A great guy.”It isn’t the first time Trump has mentioned Meyer in a speech in Ohio. Back in 2016, he had a similar quote about the Ohio State coach – adding that while he isn’t sure if Meyer endorses him or not, he thinks Meyer had “awful nice things” to say about him.Meyer, following Ohio State’s investigation, was suspended for three games to start the 2018 season. The Buckeyes went 3-0 during that span – defeating Oregon State, Rutgers and TCU.Ohio State will look to keep things going against Minnesota on Saturday afternoon.
