New Delhi: A man died allegedly after consuming poison in Bawana area of Outer North district on Thursday. The investigating agency said that the deceased tried to torch himself but was saved by the police present at the spot. The incident was reported during demolition drive.According to police, a demolition was going on near Barwala village. “The people who were living in the unauthorised homes were earlier given notice about the demolition. Meetings were also held with the residents,” police said. Suddenly one Surya Narayan (41) tried to torch himself but the police present at the spot but he was saved by police. Narayan was taken to hospital. “His wife was also with him. Narayan told her that he had consumed poison,” police said adding that during treatment he died. The deceased worked as labourer and had two children.
