Its happening folks! OnePlus 6 is coming to India on May 17, and fans and tech enthusiasts cant stop talking about the upcoming flagship phone from the OnePlus ahead of its launch. There is a reason for that: OnePlus is popular in India. In fact, India is the biggest market for OnePlus. And then there is the argument that for the last two years, OnePlus has been the company that has sold, arguably, the best value-for-money smartphone in India in the form of OnePlus 5 and the OnePlus 3. Expectations are that, once again, the OnePlus 6 will be a phone that will give consumers a flagship Android phone experience but at a more affordable price.Leaks, reveals and rumours too hint at the same. Even though OnePlus has been teasing us with details about the smartphone from its official Facebook and Twitter handles, industry insiders are going an extra mile just to get more scoop on the device. The latest is a full OnePlus 6 render that some enterprising folks have revealed in a video. It shows that the OnePlus 6 will have a different design compared to the OnePlus 5 and the OnePlus 5T. The render also shows that the OnePlus 6 is going to come with the USB C port (it was kind of obvious though). What else? A lot. As far as the official confirmation is concerned, some details have already been affirmed by OnePlus, while we will know about others only when the company officially unveils the phone at its global launch event on May 16 in London and on May 17 in India and China.advertisementHere is everything we know about OnePlus 6 so far:Processor and core hardware: As mentioned earlier, OnePlus CEO Pete Lau has already confirmed that OnePlus 6 is going to be the company’s fastest smartphone so far. It will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor, the same processor that is inside this year’s top and most expensive phones, and will sport up to 8GB RAM and up to 256GB internal memory.Screen: While not much is known about the exact screen size and resolution, OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei confirmed that the OnePlus 6 will feature an iPhone X-like notch. However, reports suggest that it could feature a 6.28-inch screen with an AMOLED display.Design: It has been confirmed that OnePlus 6 will come with a water and dust-resistant body. OnePlus earlier confirmed that the OnePlus 6 would sport a glass back, which would give it a more premium look. The feature is also likely to give it wireless charging capabilities. But of course, we wont know anything for sure until the launch.Software: OnePlus 6 will run on the latest version of the company’s proprietary Oxygen OS which will be based on Android 8 Oreo.Key features: Based on the reports that have come out so far, the OnePlus 6 will come with improved versions of features found in the OnePlus 5T. These features include Face Unlocking, Dash charging, and a fingerprint sensor. The OnePlus 6 retains the 3.5mm jack.Camera: OnePlus has kept camera details under wraps so far. Both the company and industry insiders have been tight lipped about spilling the beans on OnePlus 6s camera performance, or even its hardware. It is certain that the OnePlus 6 would feature a dual camera setup on the rear and a selfie camera in the front. We also know that the camera in the OnePlus 6 is probably good because recently, one of the photos clicked with it was good enough to be featured on the cover of Vogue magazine!Battery: Another mystery about the upcoming device is its battery. OnePlus 5T featured a 3,300mAh battery. While there is no official word on OnePlus 6s battery capacity yet, it is likely to offer a better battery life as compared to what users get with the OnePlus 5T.Price: OnePlus has not confirmed anything about the pricing of the phone yet. But word on the street is that the device could come with starting price of Rs 36,999, which means that the lower memory variant with 6GB RAM and 64GB storage would be available at the above mentioned price, while the higher memory variant with 8GB RAM and 256GB internal memory is likely to be priced around Rs 40,000.Availability: The OnePlus 6 will be launched in India on May 17. Once it is unveiled, it will go on an early — and special but limited — sale on May 21 and May 22 in 8 Indian cities. OnePlus is calling it the pop-up sale.
