Finalists for Hamilton Green KO Cup Football tourney to be decided next Friday

first_imgTHE two teams to contest the final of the Hamilton Green Cup Knockout Football tournament will be decided next Friday at the Victoria ground, East Coast Demerara.The tournament, which started some months ago, saw the organiser and former national captain, Lennox Arthur, having to switch venues and dates, as some of the teams that are part of the competition have engagements in other competitions that take precedence over the Hamilton Green tournament.For next Friday’s matches, Soesdyke Falcons of East Bank Demerara will face Upper Demerara’s Winners Connection from 19:00hrs, while Police of Georgetown will do battle with Upper Demerara’s Milerock.The final of the competition will be played the following weekend.The winning side of the final will receive $500 000 and the winners’ trophy, while the runners-up will earn $250 000. The third- and fourth-place teams will collect $150 000 and $100 000 respectively for their efforts.last_img
