first_img FacebookTwitterLinkedInEmailBoys BasketballRegion 16GUNNISON, Utah-The Gunnison Valley Bulldogs shot 50 percent from the field (22-44) as they celebrated a successful Senior Night by besting the North Sevier Wolves 61-52 Wednesday in Region 16 boys basketball action.The Bulldogs honored their five seniors, Creed Mogle, Braxton Sylvester, Austin Andrews-Zavatsky, Garrett Francis and Brandon Tucker, by giving them the start.Gunnison Valley was paced by the talents of Mogle (16 points, 6 rebounds, 5-8 from the field, 5-5 at the free throw line) and Sylvester (14 points, 5 assists, 6-12 from the field) in improving to 13-5 and 7-0 in Region 16 play.Marshall Okerlund led the Wolves in the loss with 19 points and 11 rebounds on 7-11 from the field. Landon Milne had 10 points in defeat for the Hawks.MANTI, Utah-Conner Christiansen stepped up with 17 points and the Manti Templars smacked Union 71-53 in Region 14 boys basketball action Wednesday. Keaston Young’s 16 points led the Cougars in the loss.Region 18BEAVER, Utah-Conner Crum and Ky Brown had 13 points apiece and the Beaver Beavers smoked Millard 62-39 in Region 18 boys basketball action Wednesday.
