Hearts of Gold, a not-for-profit organization whose purpose is to “reimagine the future of homeless mothers and their children, together,” will hold its fifth annual “Walk for Kids” Fundraiser in New York City’s Riverside Park on Saturday, May 30, 2015 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.Check-in will begin at 8:00 a.m. at the park’s 83rd Street entrance. Participants and teams can register by clicking here.Following a performance of the National Anthem by Rhonda Ross as well as the raising of the Start Tape by Blue Bloods actress Amy Carlson, fundraisers and celebrity guests, along with moms and kids from the shelters the organization supports, will walk along a two-mile path through the park. At the finish line, participants will celebrate with games, prizes and refreshments. Proceeds fund Hearts of Gold’s children’s programs at the organization’s adopted shelters, which include providing school supplies and back to school uniforms, after-school activities, tutoring, meals, day trips to cultural attractions and more.“The Hearts of Gold Walk for Kids funds critical programs for homeless children and teens,” said Deborah Koenigsberger, Founder & President of Hearts of Gold. “We walk to help these kids get the most out of school and compete on the same level as other students.
